We're hiring a Business Development Coordinator!

We are seeking a full-time Business Development Coordinator who is passionate about helping small businesses within rural New York thrive.

This position manages our Small Business Program. Work includes administering the LCLGRPB Small Business Loan Fund, which provides loans to businesses within nine upstate New York counties. Currently, the LCLGRPB loan portfolio has over 50 loans totaling millions in loaned capital. We are seeking a candidate who can help build this fund to address newly emerging needs within the region. The position also includes further development and administration of the LCLGRPB Small Business Technical Assistance Program, as well as the opportunity to grow our regional footprint in the small business assistance world through developing strategic partnerships with area non-profits and local and regional Chambers of Commerce.

The position requires extensive contact with small business owners and local officials, both in person and online. It requires an understanding of small business loan underwriting and fiscal management, as well as the ability to develop and manage regional programming.

Candidates must have:

•Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with prospective clients and federal, state, and local officials;

•Ability to competently assist small business owners with loan applications and financial packages;

•Ability to perform traditional underwriting of small business loans, including understanding, interpreting, and analyzing quantitative and qualitative data;

•Comfortableness with presenting completed loan applications to Committee for approval and answering questions during meetings open to the public;

•Proficiency in tracking loan payments and monitoring loan recipients;

•Capability in developing and implementing regional programming, including creating a project, identifying implementation metrics, and managing outcomes;

•Proficiency in managing consultants and expenditures;

•Ability to market LCLGRPB small business programming to a wide audience;

•Ability to track and report on work activities;

•Capability in understanding and implementing state and federal program requirements;

•Capacity to manage multiple projects and competing priorities;

•Adeptness to the changing climate of small business needs within the region and within the LCLGRPB organization.

Location

The LCLGRPB office is in the Village of Lake George, NY in the beautiful Adirondack Park. This position has traditionally been in-office only, but a hybrid schedule is possible.

Salary

$68,000 - $75,000 commensurate with experience.

Minimum qualifications are either:

(A) Master's degree in public administration, business administration, economics, finance, or closely related field and two (2) years’ experience; or

(B) Bachelor's degree in public administration, business administration, economics, finance, or closely related field and four (4) years’ experience; or OR

(C) An equivalent combination of training and experience.

Applicable experience includes:

•As a financial analyst involved in loan analysis and packaging for small business development or in coordinating programs involving economic, community, or industrial development; or

•In real estate involving identifying development opportunities, real estate negotiations and procurement of financing for small businesses.

This position will be filled based upon Civil Service requirements. A provisional appointment will be made with an examination to be held at a later date. Candidate must meet Civil Service requirements for appointment following establishment of the Eligible List.
